3D models aid design and monitoring of stream repair works

Drones are now helping to repair damaged creeks !

We've shown in an earlier blog that it is now possible to generate 3D models of the real world to create interactive maps of just about any environment you would like.  In an exciting bank rehabilitation project, designed and managed by one of our directors, our drone captured the construction of Engineered Log Jams at exactly the right time to show the three phases of construction.  This new technology is standing up to our subtropical environment in South East Queensland, with 30 engineered structures in the Warrill Creek, protecting creek banks and providing habitat for aquatic life.  Now the first ever drone generated 3D model of these engineering works is here !!
